Blood & Iron - Heimwehr Schlesien

The members of Blood & Iron has its roots in the old German city of Breslau (Silesia), but the band currently resides in Miami. This CD offers 8 tracks as a tribute to the band’s ancestry and homeland, 5 recorded in the German language, and 3 in English. The music consists of a versatile landscape driven by melodic riffing influenced by elements of melodic Death, Thrash, Power and Black Metal. Guitar leads and solos embellish the texture, while aggressive double-bass passages and artful drumming lend sonorous support to the music. The band members have had extensive experience in the Black and Death Metal scenes, but this album offers a much more creative and balanced approach which transcends categorization into genres. The textual themes center around the experience of Germans in the Eastern regions of their Empire, including the brutal flight and expulsion of many at the conclusion of the Second World War. Expect no platitudes or cliche lyrics here.
