Sledge Hammer & Bull The Buffalos - Return from the rising Sun LP 2024
Rare and sought-after record, which was originally released in 1993 by Endsieg Versand (“Kamikaze Records” label). The exploitation rights changed to Rock-O-Rama Records after an Egoldt shopping spree in the mid-1990s, but were not re-released on vinyl or CD during Herbert's lifetime.
However, during a thorough inventory of the Rock-O-Rama archive, the original recordings, which were considered “lost” for several years, were recovered. But that's not all: In addition to the five songs that had already been released at the time, three more songs were discovered that were (possibly) released by ESV for a sampler or held back for another release. Whatever. All eight songs are now represented in all their glory on this recording, 31 years later. The design of the disc is largely based on the release from 1993, so there is no change in title.
Sledge Hammer and Bull The Buffalos come from Japan and play catchy, upbeat Oi!/punk rock of the highest order, which knows how to inspire because it is sometimes reminiscent of early Skrewdriver songs. Each band is represented with four songs.
Strictly limited to 499 units, hand numbered, digitally remastered (vinyl mastering), only available in black 12 inch vinyl. 8 songs with approx. 34 minutes playing time.
