Public Enemy - Englands Glory

This album by this patriotic British Oi! band, released on LP in 1986 and re-released on CD in 1995. Incidentally, "England's Glory" was recorded and mixed by none other than Mark Sutherland in the legendary "Bunker Croydon" recording studio. Sutherland has already contributed his musical expertise to other important albums (including serving as Skrewdriver's drummer on their "Hail the New Dawn" album). Unfortunately, "England's Glory" has been somewhat forgotten amidst all the releases of that time, which does the band's musical achievements a complete disservice. Reason enough, then, to reissue "England's Glory" on vinyl!

Public Enemy (consisting of Martin, Richard, and Darrin) disbanded shortly after the recording of this album. However, the band was revived about a year later by Paul Burnley (No Remorse) with other musicians. Thus, this chapter in the band's history represents not only a musical break, but also a break in their (lyrical) content. In retrospect, one can speak of two different bands that simply shared the same name. In their original lineup, Public Enemy played a raw and catchy sound with pleasing guitar, whose compact songs easily beat those of later rumbling combos.

This LP finally includes the 12th song, "Sound of the Streets," which is listed on the back cover of the original 1986 edition but was never actually included on the LP.

Unfortunately, one song had to be omitted from the original LP's tracklist. However, a total of three songs were added that had previously only been heard on samplers, increasing the tracklist on this LP from 12 to a total of 14 songs.

Strictly limited to 499 copies, hand-numbered, further digitally remastered (vinyl mastering) in 2022, available exclusively on black 12-inch vinyl.
